Only the best will do..........
Ancia- This is a three piece group with some very creative writing. Their style of music could be compared to Nirvana with a 311 twist. Great songwriting with strong hook’s, I highly recommend getting this C.D. before they make it big it could be a collectors item.
Notable tracks: Escape and Bliss

Shimmer 57- I can honestly say this is not my brand of beer but I do see where they are going with this. Shimmer 57 takes a major departure from the mainstream and went for more of the raw rock n’ roll sound. Although I don’t see them making major label hit’s with this brand of music they will be able to gain a major underground following and who knows they could become the next Social Distortion. I do commend them on the fact that say stick to their guns and just enjoy playing their music.
Notable tracks: My Space and Super girl

Free Spin- First time I heard these guys I was blown away, Great show and awesome crowd response so I had to get a C.D. This is a pretty well produced album with lots of strong hooks. The songs are a little bouncy for my taste but they are catchy. I am definitely looking forward to hearing more from these guys.
Notable tracks: Bomb and Castles

Ripshaw- All right, so I’m a little partial this band but I will be fair and honest. These guys kick serious ass, High-energy pounding rock. The Album, although a little over produced the songs are very palatable and put in the right direction this could be a band that experience’s longevity in the music business. For the front man to be able to sing with such crystal clear dynamism and then be able to scream with the sound of hell coming forth makes this band a hot commodity in the market place.
Notable tracks: Special Kay, Gold Ganesh, Follow me down Japan Hill and Strive

Devise- The sound of beachcomber’s with actual talent. This threesome has put together a variable cornucopia of smooth sounds with a rugged feel. Lead singer Ryan Fitzgerald really makes his mark with a combination style of vocals ranging from Sublime to the Police. If you have time you should find out where these guys are and enjoy yourself for the night.
Notable tracks: Baptizing Barrel Ride, My Crazy Life and Walking on the moon

Back Yard Pimps-Well again I find myself listening to a loosely formatted sound with a lot of potential. These have been around the I.E. for a lengthy amount of time. This album falls a bit out of my genre but Mike and Jonny seem to enjoy the hell out of it. I will just tell what they said about, Mike Meeker “this album is raw in the truest sense of the meaning and well written to grab the feel that they trying to get across.” Jonny Gilbert “ Perfect groove tunes with a bit of pimptastic twist.”
Notable tracks: War and Standin’ by Juggalos

VanaganStar- I found myself submerged in a swell of C.D.’s this morning and as luck would encompass this was one of them. There are no track names, nothing fancy
And yet for some reason I picked this one up. The sound could be a mix of Creed with a pulse and the dynamics of P.O.D. Now I’m sure the band may not agree but you have to suspend disbelief here and just trust me it’s all there. I can’t say that I have ever seen these guys live but I am looking forward to it.
Notable tracks: #1 and #2

Project 86- You will be hearing from this group very soon, they have a combo of Disturbed and Tool. There were only two tracks on this promo but both were equally impressive.
Notable tracks: Hollow Again and S.M.C.

Dissinfranchised- A Hip-Hop soul groove band with a hint of Latin mix, There are so many flavors on this album they should open a restaurant. Their blend of smooth guitar lines and in touch with the people rhyme schemes makes them a radio ready, spin hitting super group in the making. Their sound is kind of a merge of Back eye pea’s and Carlos Santana.
Notable tracks: Telling Stories and Vital Principle

Locjaw- Fronted by Driven lead singer Timm Saxton we could be in the presence of the next rock legend. All right, I might be reaching a bit but he does a great job with the music that is given to him. The album is a little under produced but it does have a strong sound with plenty of bite.
Notable tracks: Compromise and Someone

Conspiracy of Thought- Hello original thought’s, they say Politics and Religion don’t mix, but they never said Politics and Rock can’t blend. This is not layback in your Jacuzzi sipping martini music. It is a hard copy of one band’s views on the World around us. I would have to say just listen to the whole album and there is no gray area here, either you will love them or you wont understand them.
Notable tracks:Spendored thing and Siege Engine

40 below summer- Invitation to the dance is a well produced product with a lot of the same sound going around the market today. They do have a solid sound and have the songs to get to the next level. There are no names for the track's so again just listen to the C.D.
Notable tracks: #2 and #3

Head Change-Windows is a low budget cd with big heart and textured sound. This band has varios song offerings from mellow melodic ballads to kick you in the crotch Rock. We expect to hear big things from these high dessert hot shots.
Notable tracks: Windows and Halie's Ocean

Unravel is a Florida based band with plenty of thrust and gusto. There latest album release Reflecting inside myself is an explosion of raw energy and evokes mass emotion. I would defiantly recommend you give this cut a listen. They do have a very familiar sound that will let you enjoy what they are doing. This is more of a hard rock sound not for the faint hearted.

Notable Tracks: Trapped in it and the rest of the C.D.

Where’s Leo is another great band with not so great songs. They have the Musical Capabilities but their songs are very typical Old School Social Distortion rock.
Not that I have a Problem with it I just like to here something fresh once in awhile. Not everything is negative about this album, the guitar and drums are very strong on this album 6 feet on the ground.

Notable tracks: Autobahn and Carry on

National Product has sent me an album of mega proportion. These guys have it dialed in as far as having the solid riffs and great hooks. They have just recently added an additional guitar player to the crew and this can only be a good thing. I actually had this album in my truck for over a week, and if anyone knows me sometimes I won’t keep an album in my car for 1 minute. Good job on this one.

Notable tracks: Harbor, Release and Hour Glass

Cellar House kind of took a left turn at Albuquerque with this one. They used to have a more melodic sound and it looks like they have opted for more of the scremo sound on this one. I do have to hand it to them they do a great job at it but they should defiantly mix some of their old sound with the new stuff, this would be an unbeatable combo. I also feel bad that they actually paid money for this recording, if you’re not sure how to record don’t charge these bands for a lousy product. Use this time instead to hone in your skills.

Notable tracks: Burning Outside and New City

HB Surround Sound’s latest release Kill all the critics is a barrage of well produced and equally well crafted works which you can hear and feel took some actual time to put together. This was another album that I had in my truck for a long time, so long in fact that I could have written this review over two months ago but I really wanted to get it right on this one. I have seen them a few times live before writing this, what passion these guys’ posses, full stage presence and their sound is on the dollar. As for this Critic this album is a ten.

Notable tracks: K-Rox, More Than a woman, Vegas, Stupid things that humans say and my overall favorite WAKE UP
